What the owner says....
Having moved out of London to raise kids in a quiet countryside village, we soon realised that whilst the London backdrop was not a loss, we were missing the vibrancy and energy that came with a cosmopolitan environment. We had visited friends in Brighton on several occasions, all of them fun, and decided it was the place to relocate with our two young kids for a new quality of life. Because Brighton/Hove is said to be one of the happiest city in the UK.
The quirky terraced houses in central Brighton were appealing but with two growing boys we felt we needed a bit more space both inside and out. We shopped around in both Brighton and Hove but struggled to find anything suitable - until we saw Shirley Street.
The potential was immediately apparent; commuting was easy with Hove Station just 5 minutes’ walk, the beach was just down the street and many good schools on the doorstep. We started thinking about how we could transform it into a more user friendly house for our family.
As an area, we could not have hoped for better. Hove Park and the Rugby Club at the Recreation Ground have turned out to be some of our favourite haunts, George Street has become a lovely little stroll to get to the bars and restaurants at the centre of Hove and the best discovery has been The Exchange Pub, just round the corner, which is an absolute gem for some great Sunday roasts, amazing local beers and some great art on display.
